  • Course Aim:

    To give delegates the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to assist the qualified first aider in the event of a workplace emergency.  In some cases it may be appropriate for this person to provide short-term cover for the qualified first aider if they were absent without prior warning.

    By encouraging employees to attend this course; the employer is fulfilling his obligation to ensure adequate welfare and first aid provision in the workplace.  Employees can be confident that they will receive the best available emergency first aid response in the event of an accident.

    • Cardio pulmonary resuscitation
    • Disorders of respiration
    • Choking
    • Asthma
    • Hyperventilation
    • Disorders of circulation
    • Angina
    • Heart Attack
    • Management and causes of unconsciousness
    • Control of bleeding and circulatory shock
    • Fractures
    • Contents, use and location of first aid box and accident book
    • Effective communication within the workplace

    Employers are reminded of the importance of refresher training so that employees are kept up to date with changes in first aid practice and changes in legislation.

  • On Completion:

    Candidates will receive a three-year certificate. Options for externally accredited certificates available
