Course Summary:

The Scaffolding Inspection course is aimed at those with a supervisory responsibility and others working with system scaffold. Completing the course will give delegates the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to conduct an inspection of system scaffold and work platforms, and prepare written reports of inspection.

Course Objectives:

    At the end of the course, candidates will:

  • Understand the main aims of Health & Safety Legislation (H&SWO 1978 NI, Work at Height 2005 Regulations, Management of Health & Safety at work Regulations, Construction Design & Management Regulations 2007, Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1999 NI
  • Identify typical components of system scaffold
  • Understand the importance of stability and load bearing
  • nderstand the hazards associated with erecting and dismantling system scaffold
  • Identify suitable methods of bracing & tying system scaffold
  • Carry out risk assessments on erecting and dismantling system scaffold
  • Understand the requirements in relation to the need to inspect system scaffold in accordance with the regulations
  • Carry out a visual inspection and complete the appropriate report
