Forklift operators play an important role in the smooth running of business operations.  But there is a vast difference between driving a forklift and operating a forklift smoothly, safely and competently.  This course will give you an understanding of the standards of proficiency recommended by the Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register and impart the skills and expertise to be able to drive a forklift. It will also ensure that employers meet their required legal obligations.

Topics Covered:

• Introduction to competent operation
• Pre-operational checks and basic maintenance
• The law and legislation pertaining to FLT operation
• The Health and Safety at Work Order (NI), PUWER, LOLER
• Demonstration and practical experience, including: maneuvering forward, reversing within a confined space, stacking, de-stacking and loading, lifting techniques

For anyone with limited or no experience in the use of a forklift truck

Candidates will receive a three-year certificate
